*Pushes button* Vrooommm

Old tube style TVs are one of these things which are simply awesome. They are big, bulky, magical boxes and can probably kill you in several different ways if you mistreat them.

I recently took the smaller CRT TV down from the attic and sat it up in my room. There isn't much which is more comfortable than sinking down in front of it, equipped with a big can of tea, while it is cold or raining (or both) outside. Just zoning out, forgetting that anything else exists, it is just you and the humming black box in this universe.

Yeah they are pretty comfy.

I have three CRTs in my room right now. I'm going to have a mental breakdown when they all eventually stop working.

Dangerous how? I never had any issues with them. Maybe if someone dropped one on your head, the big ones can be heavy...
I still have a small Sanyo C14EA13EX.

I have a Sony one. I think they use high voltages for the Tube, if you ever open it up and touch that thing before you discharge it with a screwdriver or something similar, that probably won't end good for you.

I got to use a small one with an integrated VHS player(!) to watch training videos at work last week. I'd forgotten about the screen getting full of static and the high pitched sound it makes. Turns out it's roughly 15.5kHz, btw.
